Show Expenses

Attending away-competitions is an extension of a rider's training and athlete development. Because horse shows require extended coaching hours, travel, and complex logistics outside our normal home operations, all show expenses are billed separately per event and are added to your standard monthly fees.

Tier 1: Local Area Shows (Calgary/Cochrane Region)

Applies to events within the immediate local radius where the coaching staff does not require overnight accommodation.

Daily Show Help/Coaching Fee: $65.00/day + GST
- Covers ringside warmups, course walks, strategic course evaluation, and extended workdays at local venues.
Facility Trailering & Transport: $1.50/km/horse (Within Calgary/Cochrane area)

Tier 2: Non-Local Shows (Travel Required)

Applies to destination events requiring overnight stays.

Daily Show Help/Coaching Fee: $90.00/day + GST
- Covers extensive travel schedules, 14+ hour venue workdays, and full ringside competitive management.
Facility Trailering & Transport: Billed at $1.50/km + GST (Calculated round-trip per horse).
Coach Logistics Split Expense: Billed at net cost, divided equally among all attending riders.
- Includes 100% of the coach's airfare, rental vehicle/fuel, hotel accommodations, and standard food per-diem.

The Show Day-Fee Credit Offset (Group & Private)

To ensure our boarders, half-lessors, and full-lessors are never double-billed for training time while actively competing with Lochend Stables, we apply a transparent credit offset for any home lesson that overlaps with a show date:

Private Lesson Overlap: If a show day falls on the day of your scheduled home private lesson, a $65.00 credit is applied to that day's Show Help Fee.
Group Lesson Overlap: If a show day falls on the day of your scheduled home group lesson, a $45.00 credit is applied to that day's Show Help Fee.

Third-Party Costs

Class entry fees, stabling fees, stall shavings/bedding, and mandatory drug testing fees are paid directly to the individual horse show secretary or organizing committee and are not determined by Lochend Stables.
